Summary

Professor Dr. Muhammad Bilal Khurshid is currently serving as Principal and Dean, National Institute of Transportation, (NIT), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Risalpur Cantonment Campus. He completed his BE (Civil Engg) degree from Military College of Engg (MCE), NUST, Risalpur Cantonment in 2001 with honours (4th position). He holds MS Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. Degree (with Transportation Engg as specialization) from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. He also holds Applied Management Principles Program (Mini-MBA) Certification from Krannert School of Management, Purdue University, USA.
Formerly, Dr. Bilal has served as HoD Basic Sciences at Military College of Engg (MCE), NUST, Risalpur Cantonment from 2011 to 2015, HoD Transportation Engg at NIT, SCEE, NUST, Islamabad, from 2015 to 2016, Senior Faculty Member/Assoc. Prof. at MCE from 2016 to 2018 and Deputy Director NIT, Risalpur Cantonment from 2018 to 2019. He has also spearheaded numerous design and consultancy projects as Director Transportation and Consultancy at Headquarters Frontier Works Organization (FWO), Rawalpindi from 2019 to 2024.
Dr. Bilal has more than 30 years of work & education experience in the field of Civil Engineering, especially in transportation engineering, highway asset management, highway design and capacity/congestion analysis. He has supervised over 20 Post Graduate students and has over 100 international/national research publications (including conferences) to his credit.
